Better Truckin' offers different ways to work with missions based on the workflow of your organization. Below are four different ways to work with missions in Better Truckin' and examples of organizational workflows where they're most commonly practiced.
Driver initiated missions
Drivers create the mission from the driver app as they go during the day. Replacing the paper transport note with a digital one. The drivers needs to create each event as the day proceeds.
Dispatcher initiated missions
Dispatcher of back-office personell creates the missions and send them to the drivers. This workflow reduces the work for the driver and give the driver an overview of the entire mission already from start.
Network mission workflow
Network mission are available if you organization has the feature activated. Network missions is when different carriers/freight forwarders within Better Truckin' are connected to each other. When connected to each other, each organization can share some or all its drivers to the other party, the other party can then assign their own missions to the shared drivers.
Network missions can be used in two different ways depending on the level of control and driver contact you want your freight forwarder (mission sender) to have.
Network missions sent to dispatcher
One way to work with network missions is when freight forwarders (mission sender) assign the carriers (mission receiver) dispatcher to the mission, who will in turn decide which of their drivers should be assigned.
The typical scenario is when the freight forwarder (sender) only has contact with the carrier dispatcher and don't know who the driver is.
Network missions sent directly to your drivers
Another way to work with network missions is by enabling the freight forwarder (mission sender) to assign missions directly to the carriers drivers. When sharing drivers in this way, only the sender of the mission can change the driver.
The typical scenario is when the freight forwarder (sender) has direct contact with the carrier driver and the carrier dispatcher has a administrative role instead of an operational role for the missions.
